Questions? Good.
Everything you might want to know about baking, ordering, delivery and what's in our pies.
Baking & storage
How do I cook them?
Straight from frozen — no thawing needed. Pop them on a tray in a preheated oven at TODO°C (TODO°F) for about TODO minutes, until the pastry is deep golden and the filling is piping hot through the middle. Exact times are being finalised; they'll be printed on every box.
Do I need to defrost first?
Nope. Bake them straight from the freezer. Thawing first can make the pastry soggy, and nobody wants a sad pie.
How long do they keep?
Keep them frozen until you're ready. Best enjoyed within TODO months of purchase (we'll confirm the exact window). Once baked, eat them hot — though leftovers reheat well the next day.
Can I use an air fryer?
Absolutely. Air-fry from frozen at TODO°C for about TODO minutes. Check on the smaller sausage rolls a touch earlier — they crisp up fast.
Ordering & delivery
How does local delivery work?
Order online and choose local delivery at checkout. Ryan runs the Vancouver delivery route by motorcycle on TODO days. There's a small delivery fee and an order minimum (see the How It Works page), and delivery is free over a certain order size. If you're outside the zone, join the notify list.
Where do you deliver?
Across central Vancouver to start — Downtown, Mount Pleasant, Kitsilano, Main Street, Commercial Drive and nearby. The exact boundary is being confirmed. Not in the zone yet? Pop your postcode on the notify list and we'll let you know the moment Ryan's wheels reach you.
How much is delivery and is there a minimum?
Both are set in one place and shown at checkout. As a starting point: a small flat delivery fee, a minimum order to qualify, and free delivery over a larger order — final numbers are a launch TODO.
When will my order arrive?
We bake and freeze to order, so there's a short lead time (around TODO days). You'll pick your delivery or pickup day at checkout, and we'll confirm by email.
Markets & pickup
Can I pick up at a farmers' market?
Yes — and it's our favourite way to meet you. Choose market pickup at checkout, pick your market and date, and collect your frozen pies from the stall. Pre-ordering means you skip the queue and never miss out when we sell out.
Which markets are you at?
We're working through the Vancouver farmers' market season — check the Markets page for the current list and dates, and follow @hey.trueblue for pop-up announcements. You can also catch the pies hot at the Coyotes Cafe weekend pop-up.
Ingredients
What about allergens?
Our pastry contains gluten and wheat, and the vegetarian rolls contain cashews (tree nuts). Everything is made in a kitchen that handles other allergens. A full, confirmed allergen panel is on the way (TODO) — if you have an allergy, please check with us before ordering and we'll give you the straight answer.
Are the pies really Australian-style?
True blue. Same recipes and same hands behind the pies at Coyotes Cafe — proper Aussie meat pies and sausage rolls, now frozen so you can bake that golden, flaky magic in your own kitchen.
Still wondering?
Especially about allergies — please just ask. We'd rather you check.
